While I was walkig looking around the small port used by the Coooperativa dei Pescatori, colored small boats attracted my eyes:
Honestly, looking to the boats condition, I was thinking that these were not used anymore. But these are not yachts or luxury boats; these boats are still used tools to work hard, very hard.
As usual, I never stay in a single position or spot when I’m looking for a better frame. Looking around the areas I found more interesting details strictly connected with the fisherman activity:
I was also lucky because few minutes later a boat with two fishermen came back from the fishing day. I met Aurelio and Maurizio; Aurelio is President of Cooperativa dei Pescatori del Trasimeno since 15 years (http://www.trasimenosapori.it/portfolio-items/cooperativa-pescatori-del-trasimeno-since-1928/?lang=en), Maurizio, younger than Aurelio, is fisherman since he was a kid.
They were so kind and patient, leaving me to move around them to take some shots here below. If you’re lucky as I was, you’ll be able to learn more about lake fishing techniques, the history of fishing practices and see the famous “giacchio”, nets expertly made by hand used to catch the fish.
Thank you Aurelio, Thank you Maurizio.
